OCA 10th Anniversary
Trip to Japan
All of OCA employees except one visited Japan to celebrate
10th anniversary of OCA
operation. This was the first time for most of them to experience
Japanese culture,
which would have been so surprising, amazing, exciting !?
Read their short essays below and share their feeling!
The trip to Japan to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our
U.S. corporation was an
experience my wife and I will never forget. From the crowded
shopping malls of Yoko-
hama, to the quiet country setting of mountainous Yamagata, we
were able to
experience many different aspects of Japanese culture, while
learning more about
the company and people that employ us.
What made this trip especially memorable was the fact that
it included the entire OCA
family. For one week, each OCA employee and their guest traveled
together, ate meals
together, and partied together, and had a great time doing it.
I would personally like to thank Mr. Oshikiri and the employees
of Oshikiri Japan, for their
kind hospitality. They made sure that all our accommodations
were taken care of, and
acted as personal tour guide during the entire stay, making our
visit a very enjoyable
and memorable occasion.
Michael K. Montgomery, Controller & Business Manager

While working for Oshikiri Corporation of
America, I have learned a little about the
Japanese culture. I have seen many pictures
but nothing can prepare you for the sights
that I saw. I experienced the peacefulness of
the temples and shrines, and the Ginza strip
is exciting and dazzling. We traveled from the
ocean to the mountains.
Our Japanese hosts and co-workers wanted
us to actually feel the Japanese culture and we did, by staying
at a Ryokan (Japanese
style hotel). We experienced an evening of bathing, dressing
and eating all done in
Japanese tradition.
It was a fantastic trip from start to finish.

Our trip to Japan was very enjoyable.
We got to see a lot of different areas of
the country. We visited Tokyo, Yokohama,
Shonan and Yamagata, which is in northern
Japan. We visited the Shonan plant for our
10 year anniversary celebration for OCA.
This was my second visit. We also visited
the Yamagata Plant in northern Japan. I
was very impressed with this operation.
The plant ran very efficiently, and was
very clean and safe working environment.
The Oshikiri employees at the two
manufacturing facilities as well as the International Sales office
were very kind and
gracious, which helped to make our visit to Japan very enjoyable.
I say a genuine sense
of cooperation between Oshikiri, Japan and Oshikiri, America
which helps to make
Oshikiri a strong force in the world market for bakery equipment.
I very much enjoyed the Japanese culture during my visit. We
visited a lot of Temples
and Shrines and learned a lot about the history of the country.
We also enjoyed just
walking the streets and visiting the shops. One night we stayed
in a traditional Japanese
hotel which was a very pleasant experience. We found the Japanese
people to be very
friendly and gracious. I felt very safe in Japan, even when walking
the streets of Tokyo
at night.
I very much look forward to the opportunity to visit Japan
again in the future.

Some of my Impressions from our trip to
Japan
Because of the geographical layout of Japan,
I was amazed how 80% of the population
exists on 20% of the land. Real estate in the
USA is so plentiful that we are sometimes
spoiled with so much room to spread out.
The public transportation system made it
very easy to access any part of the country
in a timely and comfortable fashion.
Even though some of us were a little apprehensive about experiencing
the Japanese
culture, we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience, especially
the hot baths. Thank you
Mr. Oshikiri for including this in the itinerary.
My wife and I are eternally grateful for the kindness all
the Japanese people expressed
to us, especially all the Oshikiri employees.
Ray D'esposito, Purchasing Manager

The consensus of the OCA group and myself
was of a country that was not only scenically
beautiful in the rural areas, but also well
equipped in the urban areas to handle the
dense population.
We found the Japanese people always
provided the highest quality service wherever
we traveled, and that our co-workers at
Shonan, Yamagata, and International were
warm, friendly, and generous people who
were interested in making our trip memorable.
